Ontario Presents
2022–2023 Digital Annual Report

Each year, Ontario Presents issues a report to its membership and community stakeholders detailing the organization’s financial activities, roster of programs, and plans for the future. The challenge was to create a document that builds upon existing brand elements while incorporating current design trends and prioritizing ease of navigation.

CLIENT:

SERVICES:
Document design

INDUSTRY:
Arts and Culture, Non-profit

After carefully reviewing prior iterations of the annual report, I consulted with the client to create a design system that borrows from the organization’s existing colour palette and utilizes one of the brand’s typefaces Roboto as the heading font.

While the organization’s brand identity originally included the Raleway typeface, I switched it out for Noto Sans to increase the legibility of the report.

Each of the organization’s professional development and networking programs had its own colour palettes, which I paired with the project’s typefaces to align with the document’s identity system while honouring each program’s unique visual identity.

Design System

Final Product

Once the design system was established, I prototyped different page layouts to prioritize the flow of elements on the page while implementing accessibility elements. The charts featured throughout the report utilize contrasting colours and patterns to assist readers with low-vision and/or colour blindness.

The final document features monochromatic gradients built from the organization’s existing colour palette and rounded sans-serif typefaces, with the digital copy of the document utilizing interactive hyperlinks directing readers to relevant webpages for further reading and a built-in navigation menu for an accessible reading experience.
